Chocolate Cookie Pound Cake

Today someone I’m making a wedding cake for in July asked me if the small cake on their wedding cake could be an Oreo cookie cake. And I just happened to have some extra Oreo’s from a dessert I made a few weeks ago laying around. So of course, I had to find the perfect recipe. I started with this Oreo Pound Cake Recipe (click link to see). I replaced half of the milk with sour cream, added mini chocolate chips in with the crushed oreas and used a different chocolate glaze. I drizzled extra chocolate glaze over each slice, added a dallop of whipped topping and sprinkled some crushed chocolate cookies on top. on It was delicious!

The Chocolate Cookie Pound Cake Recipe:

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 c. milk
3 c. flour
~15 crushed oreo cookies
1/2 c. mini chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar until mixed then beat in eggs. Add vanilla, baking powder and salt and mix well. Stir in sour cream, milk and flour until evenly mixed.

Put half of the batter into a greased bundt pan. Mix the crushed cookies with the mini chocolate chips and cover the top of the batter with the crumbs. Pour the rest of the batter on top. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for ~50 minutes.

Let cool in pan 10 minutes and then remove from pan and allow to cool completely. Drizzle chocolate glaze over the cake and/or add whipped topping, additional crushed cookie crumbs, or other desired topping.

Easy Chocolate Glaze

2 Tbsp. butter, melted
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. powdered sugar
2-3 Tbsp. water

Melt butter and stir in cocoa and powdered sugar. Add water to desired consistency.
