Cooked Waldorf Astoria Icing

Here is the frosting:

5 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk

Mix flour and milk together in a saucepan and cook until thick. Set aside and allow mixture to cool.

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add cooled flour mixture and beat until smooth like whipped cream.

Use this icing to frost Waldorf Astoria “Red Velvet” Cake.
