Home Remodel: The Kitchen

The Kitchen is obviously my favorite room in a home – you can probably tell considering I have a whole section devoted to “In the Kitchen with Krista”! I am so excited we are remodeling the kitchen in our home and I am very happy for the opportunity to be able to make it just how I want it, or I guess I should say: just how I want it within the bounds of the house! We ordered cabinets last week and the “kitchen” is still a long way from being finished, but here you can see how it started…. and where it is at now!

We were happy to come across your blog today and are excited about your kitchen project. It looks like you guys have a lot of work ahead of you, but will all be well worth it in the end! We are wondering if you are using backer board during your remodel to protect your kitchen wet areas from moisture and mold damage. Our product is perfect for floors and countertops as it’s America’s best selling 1/4″ board. Love the green oven! My parents used to have one just like it years ago! Fun to be getting a new kitchen. Not so fun right now!

I know!! It is great – I am positive it must have been a top-of-the-line oven when it was purchased. I have a hard time believing any oven purchased today will still be working in 56 years, like they say “things just aren’t made like they used to be”!
